Your King Is Calling // By Holly Starr Jackson

By February 7, 2018Discovering Me

“The one I love calls to me:

The Bridegroom-King [says]

Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me!
I have come as you have asked
to draw you to my heart and lead you out.
For now is the time, my beautiful one.
The season has changed,
the bondage of your barren winter has ended,
and the season of hiding is over and gone.
The rains have soaked the earth
and left it bright with blossoming flowers.
The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived.
I hear the cooing of doves in our land,
filling the air with songs to awaken you
and guide you forth.
Can you not discern this new day of destiny
breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans
are bursting forth.
The budding vines of new life
are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”
Arise, my love, my beautiful companion,
and run with me to the higher place.
For now is the time to arise and come away with me.”

Song of Songs 2:10-13 TPT

These words of this King to His beloved are so beautiful! And more beautiful still is that these words are speaking directly to ME. You see, this Bridegroom-King represents Jesus–the King of my heart–and I am His beloved.

He is calling me higher, calling me to arise to the new season that is upon me. He is saying the hard, long winter season is over. The rains have come! He is now sending the beautiful melodies of spring to awaken me to this new chapter in my story. The Lord is calling me to open my eyes wide and see the wonder of all He is bringing to life in and around me—the blossoming and blooming of the garden He is making of my life even as I emerge from the wilderness of personal loss and such difficult times. He is declaring to me that the rough, rocky, painful journey that has cost so much and changed me in many ways has led me to a wonderful new place of fruitfulness, where it will all be worth it as I begin to see His plans for my destiny unfold. Isn’t it exciting to read these ancient words and know He is speaking to us today?!

He is saying there is abundance on the horizon! There is so much to see, so much to take in, so much to DO for and WITH Him. Instead of enduring the dry, barren, desert sand, it is time to run through lush green meadows, splash in pools of His grace and provision, and drink freely of the fruit of His vineyard, so sweet and refreshing, prepared especially for me. He is calling me to awaken all He has put in me and to begin to write, to sing, to create, to use everything He has given me to bring the Kingdom of heaven to this earth and to bring those I encounter into the Kingdom of Heaven. It is time to arise and shine and let His glory be seen through His goodness in my life.

Maybe you have also come through a time of intense loss and pain and have come to know Him as Comforter and Healer in ways you never truly knew before. If so, listen as He is saying these wonderful, exciting words to you: Arise, My dearest, beautiful one for YOUR barren season has ended. It is time to enter your land of fruitfulness, joyful singing and a destiny you have only begun to imagine!

YOU are His beloved, He is passionate about you and He is calling you to come up higher, to know Him in a new, more intimate way than ever before—not just as your Savior, Comforter and Healer, but also as your Beloved, as the Lover of your soul, as the One Who satisfies the deepest places of your heart, Who gives joy and delight beyond your wildest dreams! Can you hear Him now, saying “It is your time!”? Oh, friend! How I encourage you to say YES to His call! Come up and away into this place of knowing Him like never before. Leave the barren wilderness and the cold, hard winter behind! Step into the Promised Land of His wondrous plans for You. Do whatever it is He is speaking to your heart even now. Yes–that thing He’s been whispering–do it! Now is the time! Your King is calling: the season of singing has come for you!
