As I’ve been reflecting on the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, the only thing I can think of is that the world is getting crazier and crazier every single day that goes by. Things people would do back in the early 2000‘s is not even close to what people do these days. I know, it’s a pretty strange thing to think for the transition of the year, but I’m just being honest here. How dare she? How dare he? How dare they do this or that? And seriously, though it sounds judgmental, it was an honest question. How DARE they?
Dare: to have the necessary courage or boldness for something; be bold enough.
And then my next question came: Will I DARE to do this or that in 2018? I know what God has spoken to me, I remember the smallest and the biggest craziest dreams he has given me and I know that if I dare to believe and to step out in faith and do it in the right time, it will happen. But it’s easier said than done. How can this actually happen? What are practical ways to get to a place where I can dare to believe, say, do, etc.?
Well, I think we all know that first we have to put our mind into it. And how do we renew our mind? Easy answer. The word of God.
It was during that same week that I met with my editor and content manager and we were planning our series for 2018 and boom! It happened! The Holy Spirit said, “study women who made people think, “how dare she?” And now are in the Bible because of their courage and boldness.
“How dare Rahab think God can use her?”, her neighbors might have thought. “How dare Deborah judge and prophesy over Israel?“, the men in the tribe might have thought. “How dare Mary Magdalene walk around towns following Jesus with a bunch of other dudes that were preaching the good news?” Or, “How dare that woman with the issue of blood think just by touching Jesus in the middle of the crowd will bring her healing?”.
Yes. They dared. And that’s why the Bible talks about them. That’s why we want to study them. Because if they stepped out in courage, there must be something we can learn from them to do the same. Join me and let’s dive in to the lives of these precious women that can teach us to dare in 2018.
