A Wardrobe of Holiday Cheer // by Nikki Charnstrom

By December 24, 2017Fashion

The season of Christmas is one of my favorite fashion moments. It’s an excuse to pull out your most colorful, glitter-covered and sometimes fanciest attire. Whether you’re going to a friend’s holiday party or celebrating festivities out on the town, don’t be afraid to put your best foot forward.

In every store you go to at this time of year, you are sure to find something that speaks to your personality and exudes your excitement for Christmas. This year, I decided upon a sequin skirt from Target. My heart has always desired one and well, my closet was lacking in the glitter department. For only $25 this sequin skirt is the perfect party go-to.

Because the skirt is an eye-catcher all on it’s own, you really don’t need to add to it much. This is why I chose a simple, yet elegant black lace top. For shoes, you really could go either way. I dressed it up with a vintage-style bootie, but you could easily wear flats or a chic black heel.

For this next look, I’m thinking business casual. This is something you could wear to your office Christmas party or a night out with the girls. It is definitely a little more comfortable yet says “professional”. The red pants give it an edge and a little holiday spirit.

I’ve had these red pants for years and I only pull them out when I’m feeling bold. I think it’s safe to say these pants are a holiday essential. Don’t forget this outfit screams red lipstick, so color your lips that cherry red girl and rock it!

Now the blouse adds a feminine touch with just the right amount of ruffles. You could easily style it with a white or glitter top too. The blazer is one of my favorite touches, I mean it’s a blazer. Throw on a pair of black flats and you’re set!

Holiday makeup is fun because GLITTER. I used a gray eyeshadow, black eyeliner and a glitter eyeliner for my bottom waterline. To top it all off, I took the silver NYX glitter to complete the look. BUT the red lipstick is the selling point (I’m a big advocate of red lipstick if you can’t tell).

So there you have it. These aren’t all the Christmas looks in the book so be inspired by these outfits and create your own. Find that one thing in your closet you have been waiting to wear and be confident in it. You are beautiful and your style is one-of-a-kind! Embrace it.

Soak up every moment of this holiday season and celebrate the birth of our Savior with unrelenting joy. Merry Christmas, loves! XOXO.
