The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is here! This is truly one of my favorite times of the year.
This year I had a HUGE heart check. My praise should be SO abundant this time of year, so why is it not on the forefront of my mind?!
Why is decorating the tree more time consuming and more elaborate than my time and thankfulness of Jesus’ birth?
Romans chapter 3 is an excellent reminder for me to truly have an attitude of worship through this holiday season. While reading through, two characteristics stand out to me: He is FAITHFUL and He is LOVING.
“Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” Rom 3:25-26
Jesus was sent to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and was judged in our place. Jesus brought an everlasting relationship with God that was not possible before.
God’s love transcends all other. He loves us enough to look down and see a broken, sinful world, but to still send his only son to cover every sin and save us.
HE WANTS US.
Why would the birth and beginning of this not be the reason behind my excitement this Christmas?!
Rest in that truth today. God LOVES you, God is faithful in ALL of his promises, and God WANTS you!
