As I read through book of Daniel in preparation for this month’s newest series, I am pleasantly surprised. Before reading the book of Daniel in it’s entirety, I only thought of Daniel as the guy who survived the lions den. I chalked him up to being a faithful servant of God.
What I newly understand is that he was more than simply faithful, Daniel was man of vision who walked in the fruits of the spirit imparted to him by the most holy God.
The book opens with Daniel operating in obedience to God as he refuses to eat the lavish food and drink of King Nebuchadnezzer’s kingdom (Daniel 1:10-13). He is then given the knowledge of Nebuchadnezzer’s dream and uses the gift of interpretation (Daniel 2). God goes on to entrust Daniel with the dreams of kings and imparts to Daniel many power-filled visions depicting the days to come and end times.
It is clear to everyone who knows Daniel that he lives his life fully devoted to God. He plants seeds of wisdom, understanding and faithfulness in his life, watering them three times daily. Daniel’s soul garden is filled to the brim with spiritual gifts, yours too can be like Daniel’s.
Daughters, now is the time to plant your seeds. The season is NOW! Ready your soil, and fortify it with the nourishment and protection of God-our head gardener.
The time of dryness and depleted soil is over! Receive the fruit God has for you, for it is ripe with a delicious love that surpasses all you have eaten before.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them will produce much fruit.”
If the vulture is already in your garden-cast him out and start anew. For God is doing a new thing in you!
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
He has already equipped you with the soil you need to have the fruits of life you desire. You simply need to have faith and PLANT.
“You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot bear fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” John 15:3-4
Don’t just plant one or two good seeds. Plant an entire acre of seeds you want to see flourish in your life. So that when the vulture comes with his weeds, you will not be depleted by their small victory-because LOOK AROUND!
Your garden is still full!
Your garden is still growing!
Look and see the all that God has grown in you.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit” Jeremiah 17:7-8
Plant with purpose
Plant with intention
Plant with Precision
And don’t forget to water.
For all the seed planted with purpose, intention and precision that sit in the soil too long without water will wither away, be taken over by weeds and picked off by the vulture. Why not water them now, every day instead of having to replant?
The soil will always be there, but it’s your job to cultivate.
Now not later.
So daughters, know this-Your soil is prepared, hungry and ready.
Plant your seeds of faith, wisdom, love, understanding, patience and peace etc. and watch them grow under the power of the SON.
“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John 15:16
Pray this prayer with me:
“Make my soul a garden with deeply rooted plants that will continue to grow, reproduce and flourish. I pray that there will be no weeds in my soul, that you the gardener will fill my garden soil with a spiritual round up. That when trees start to form you will pluck them out by the root and not the head. That my spirit will be a garden that glorifies you with all of the gifts and promises you have planted.”
