Spring is here! Yet with the occasional storm or rain shower, we don’t get to go out very much. Instead of feeling down about staying cooped up, let’s brighten up our homes with some homemade, colorful, spring flower pots that even the kids can enjoy making!

Materials you will need:

  • Painter’s tape
  • Paint brush
  • Chalk paint or regular acrylic paint
  • Mod Podge (optional)
  • Disposable plate to act as an easel
  • Small cup of water
  • Tiny indoor plant

Step 1

Paint your pots a solid color and let the paint dry completely. (Multiple coats of paint if it is a light color).

Step 2

After the paint has dried, tape wherever you want the first color to stay. Or simply outline a shape, like a triangle in the cover photo.

Step 3

Paint wherever the tape is not (or inside the shape’s outline) and wait for it to dry again.

Step 4

After the paint is dry, peel off the painter’s tape.

Step 5 (Optional)

Seal the entire pot with a coat of Mod Podge.

After it everything is completely dry, you now have a super cute and quick DIY that you can do by yourself or with your kids!

Note: you can find a variety of tiny plants at your closest hardware store for a very affordable price.
